Understanding Wood and Wood Furniture, Part 2 (W)

Participants will gain a better understanding of wood, its unique characteristics, and how those characteristics show up on wood furniture. They will explore cutting methods, lay-up techniques, construction methods and finishing techniques, contributing to the look and feel of the final product. This is a hands-on course that explores the transformation of wood from forest to furniture. As a comprehensive course, a large range of material is covered, including information about the unique properties of wood and each wood species, as well as information about finishing, construction, and veneer. The knowledge aquired from this course can easily be applied to the work environment. *This is the second in a two part course, each one hour length.
