This eight hour seminar provides a holistic approach to lighting design. Specific topics addressed are: lighting quality, quantity, and energy consumption, effects on the user’s safety and health, artificial light source properties, their use, and applications in interior environments, effects of light on the visual aspect – safety, accessibility, and implications for older adults, effect of light on the non-visual aspect (health), energy codes and sustainability standards as they pertain to lighting design, latest lighting technologies.

Lighting Nuts & Bolts (H&S)
Participants will learn various options for switches/sockets/bulbs. Special attention to ADA as related to selection. Learn how to convert fluorescent wattage to incandescent. Learn impact of Kelvin temp. on design. Learn to determine if lampshade will comply with UL. UL “tilt test” and etc.
