General Information
Description: To understand the history of the woven carpet.
Abstract: Examine the evolution of woven carpet from its orgin in ancient history to present day use. Technological milestones in carpet weaving machinery, product design and construction are discussed. The issues of defining “historically appropriate,” “historically grounded,” or a “defining feature” of interior spaces is discussed as it pertains to historical carpet patterns.
